The town is really in two parts. There is the newer section at the North end of the town that is very commerical with lots of shops. The other half is the older half, down across the river and to the South and West. This also has quite a number of shops and places to eat and also the historic part.

A castell is a human tower built traditionally in festivals at many locations within Catalonia. At these festivals, several teams often succeed in building and dismantling a tower's structure. On November 16, 2010, castells were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

In Spain, it usually refers to orxata de xufa (horchata de chufa), made from tigernuts, water, and sugar.

Originally from Valencia, the idea of making horchata from tigernuts comes from the period of Muslim presence in Valencia (from the eighth to thirteenth centuries).

Las Arenas is a shopping mall in Barcelona. Located in Plaça Espanya, opposite Fira Montjuic and the Palau Reial, it was once a bullfighting ring. Now Las Arenas is a modern, state-of-the-art complex boasting over 60 commercial outlets, including fashion stores, cafes, restaurants and bars.

On weekends the rooftop terrace, which has spectacular panoramaic views of the city, is open til 1.30 am ; )

عرفت أوروبا الشوكولاتة منذ 500 عام عندما وصلت حبوب الكاكاو لأول مرة إلى شواطئها، وصلت بصحبة الجيش الإسباني بقيادة القائد هرنان كورتز بعد انتهاء غزواته في أمريكا اللاتينية التي عرفت حبوب الكاكاو منذ أكثر من 3000 سنة، وبالتحديد في المكسيك على ضفاف نهر الأمازون حينما اكتشفوا شجرة الكاكاو الإستوائية.
واحتفالاً بانتقال الشوكولاتة إلى أسبانيا عبر المحيط الأطلسي أقامت برشلونة في سنة 2000 متحفاً لذيذاً للشوكولاتة ليسافر بنا عبر تاريخ الشوكولاتة ويروي قصتها وقصة التحديثات التي طرأت عليها عبر السنين، وكيف تحولت من مشروب مر المذاق إلى قطع صلبة مختلفة النكهات، ولا يختلف في عشقها الكثيرون.

ملعب نادي برشلونة الأسباني أحد أكبر الملاعب في أوروبا تأسس عام 1957 بطاقة إستيعابية بلغت 120 ألف متفرج وبسبب شروط الأمن والسلامة تم تخفيض سعة الملعب إلى 98.787 متفرج . يقع الكامب نيو في وسط مدينة برشلونة ويعتبر ثاني أكبر مزار سياحي في إقليم كتالونيا بعد متحف المدينة . إستضاف هذا الملعب العديد من البطولات والمناسبات الرياضية كان أهمها أولمبياد برشلونة 1992 وكأس العالم 1982 ونهائي دوري أبطال أوربا 1999. و يوجد فيه متحف لتاريخ النادي ويسمح بجولات تعريفية داخل مرافق النادي. وتقديريا تستغرق الزيارة بين الساعة والنصف والساعتين.
