When rummaging through the mess in my backyard during a very rainy day I found this very wet small toad hiding under a bucket. Using a ring flash, hiding under an umbrella I took a closeup for this week's theme. It waited patiently for me to finish...

This is a close-up of a saxophone. It shows two valves of this beautiful instrument with it dreamy tones (remember the song City to City?).
I have a lot with music, although my attempt to play an instrument failed totally. I tried the piano for years, managed to play without fault many a song, but it never sounded the way I wanted it to, or heard it in my head. So I gave up. Never mind, there are plenty others that can make terrific music.

I held an off-camera flash close to the mouth of the instrument to light up the valves from within.

Here we collect our garbage in separate bins. Glass, paper, plastic, batteries, and organic matter. For organic matter we have a large green bin: leftover from the kitchen and stuff from the garden are collected and later decomposed to be used again as fertiliser.

Quite traditional I fear, two burning candles reflecting in the pupil of the eye.
I found it quite an ordeal to get this more or less sharp and the reflection of the candles and flames somewhat visible.

Shot for Macro Mondays, theme "Games". This is a detailed view of a Hockey keeper and one of his protective devices. I took several shots, what made this one (at least to me) made attractive is that the pupil is blocked from view by the metal bar. A bit spooky effect.

I travel to work every day on my bicycle. As it is only a 10 kilometer ride it is not very heroic. But, rain or shine, or snow, I use the bicycle. This gets the chain and sprocket dirty of course. Therefore I use this sophisticated brush that, in combination with a cleaning fluid, brushes the chain from three sides at the same time
