Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Stands 535' Tall. The tallest educational building in the Western Hemisphere.

Construction begain in 1926 and was opened for classes in 1931.

Very cool building and a number POV's to shoot this from so I will be exploring it further in future visits.

The color of Pittsburgh. In my lifetime, I remember when you'd never be able to see that distant hillside for the pollution to the transition of being voted America's Most Liveable city a number of years ago.

A photographic icon in Chicago is the Budhai House of Worship, so Saturday I decided it was time for me to add this to my collection. Most of my photog friends have shot this at night when it is beautifully lit so I wanted something different.

When I see this architecture, my minds eye sees an old postcard or pen-n-ink drawing from an old book so that was the look I attempted to obtain.

Shot from the top of Starved Rock Overlook.
Never thought this shot would work. I'd just loaned my tripod to a buddy and I saw these geese flying in. Quickly set the ISO to 1600 and dialed down the aperture to f/4.5 to get a 1/200th shutter speed. How I got enough DOF to make a decent shot is beyond me.

As it turns out, the geese which attracted me to the shot are too little in the frame to make any difference.
