The eagles at Starve Rock State Park don't care much for people. I drove from one end of the park to another following these guys until I could get a decent shot. There is no shortage of Bald Eagles here that's for sure. I must get here early one sunny day and stay here throughout. That's the way I'm really going to come away with that killer shot!

This barred owl looked very comfortable in its front lit tree. I'm owled-out but couldn't help but post the perfect shot. Everything about this image feels right. Amazing how closely the colors match the tree.

Thanks Fred for showing me the whereabouts of this Barred Owl. He didn't care about our presence like the others do. This is perhaps the closest I've been able to get to one of these beautiful creatures of nature. The Sigma 500mm did not disappoint me. Finishing touches included a small contrast increase & a touch of saturation.
