El Aramo es un cordal calizo localizado en la parte central del Principado de Asturias, en España, de casi veinte kilómetros de longitud y siete kilómetros de anchura que avanza en dirección norte desde las primeras estribaciones de la Cordillera Cantábrica, delimitando al oeste la cuenca del Trubia y al este la cuenca del Caudal.

En torno al mismo se ha constituido el Paisaje Protegido de la Sierra del Aramo, incluyendo la totalidad de la sierra que separa los concejos de Quirós, al oeste, y Riosa y Morcín, al este.

Sus alturas principales son: la Gamonal, La Berriscal y el Gamoniteiru , siendo este la mayor elevación, con 1.786 metros. El ascenso a la primera, el Angliru, alcanzó notoriedad al celebrarse en el mismo una de las etapas de la Vuelta Ciclista a España. Su forma imponente lo configura como uno de los hitos referenciales del paisaje del Centro de Asturias.

En su vertiente este, en territorio del concejo de Riosa, se localizan las evidencias más antiguas de minería conocidas en Asturias. De los filones del Aramo se extraía cobre, preservándose restos de las antiguas minerías, que no obstante, han sido destruidas en gran parte por la explotación reciente del cobre a finales del siglo XIX y en la primera mitad del XX, actividades de las que también se preservan evidencias en forma de barracones, pozos, galerías... por toda la ladera Este.

Se piensa que el orónimo de Aramo podría derivar del nombre de una divinidad prerromana, y también hay quien dice que Aramo sería un antiguo nombre para denominar al metal del cobre. Lo que sí parece claro es la gran carga simbólica de esta montaña, omnipresente en el paisaje central asturiano, que llevaría a la sacralización del monte por las comunidades prehistóricas, que situarían en sus collados y cordales innumerables evidencias de arquitectura megalítica.

The Aramo is a limestone ridge located in the central part of the Principality of Asturias, Spain, for almost twenty miles long and seven miles wide it moves north from the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains, west delimiting Basin Trubia and east basin flow.

Around the same has become the Protected Landscape of the Aramo, including the entire mountain range that separates the councils of Quirós, west, and Riosa and Morcín, east.

Their heights are: the Gamonal, The Gamoniteiru Berriscal and, this being the highest elevation, at 1786 meters. The climb to the first, the Angliru, achieved notoriety when held in the same stage of the Tour of Spain. Its imposing form sets it to one of the landmarks landscape referential Asturias Center.

On its eastern side, in Riosa council territory are located the oldest evidence of mining known in Asturias. Aramo the reefs of copper was mined, preserving remains of ancient mining, which nevertheless have been largely destroyed by the recent exploitation of copper in the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth activities also preserving evidence in the form of huts, wells, galleries ... throughout the eastern slope.

It is thought that Aramo orónimo could derive from pre-Roman name of a deity, and some say that Aramo be an old name to refer to copper metal. What does seem clear is the great symbolic of this mountain, omnipresent in the Central Asturian landscape, leading to the sacredness of the mountain by prehistoric communities, which would place its hills and chordal innumerable evidences of megalithic architecture.

La Colegiata Basílica de Santa María, o como se la denomina popularmente La Seu, es el edificio más emblemático del gótico religioso manresano. Corona el monte Cardener, cuna histórica de la ciudad, desde donde se contempla un magnífico panorama sobre el río, ocupa el espacio de construcciones religiosas y civiles más antiguas. Es, sin duda, la imagen más clásica y bonita de la ciudad. El primer nombre hace referencia al capítulo de canonjías que recoge, mientras que la denominación de basílica corresponde al título otorgado en 1886 por el Papa León XIII. En 1931 fue declarada monumento histórico.

The Collegiate Church of the Virgin Mary, or as it is popularly called La Seu, is the landmark of Gothic religious Manresa. Cardener Mount Corona, historic birthplace of the city, from where there is a magnificent view over the river, occupies the space of civil and religious buildings older. It is undoubtedly the most classic and beautiful image of the city. The name refers to the first chapter of dispensations were collected, while the designation of basilica is the title given in 1886 by Pope Leo XIII. In 1931 it was declared a historical monument.

La parte antigua de la ciudad, está encerrado en un recinto que sigue la forma de lo que fue la muralla del castillo medieval. El resto de la fortificación, que ocupa el sector oriental, que es la parte más visible de la ataludada bastión, es la combinación de una bella torre almenada del siglo XIV, y la base de la pared, presumiblemente del siglo XI, en la que se encuentra una majestuosa mansión s.XVI en la Edad Media, no había ninguna ciudad, y sólo vivió allí los habitantes del castillo y un pequeño número de personas a su servicio. Según datos de 1380, Florejacs sólo constaba de 4 fuegos. Después de muchas modificaciones, como la prosperidad económica de Jehová, en 1715, y consistió Florejacs cerca de 18 casas, y en el comienzo de este siglo, las casas de unos cincuenta, y alrededor de 200 habitantes (número en este punto, se ha reducido significativamente).

Las primeras menciones documentales del castillo de Florejacs son del s.XI, probablemente existía una fortificación más antigua, sobre la que se construyó el castillo medieval. No tan solo se han encontrado algún vestigio ibérico, sino que el mismo nombre de la fortaleza podría muy bien, fue derivado de Loreac, que en lengua ibérica quisiera significar "elevación fortificada de las flores". El nombre fue latinizado por los romanos, como Floriacus, y de ahí pasó a Florejacs. Durante la reconquista de Catalunya de manos de los sarracenos, el gran caudillo de la zona, Arneu Mir de Tost, señor de Àger, va construir o consolidar, con toda probabilidad, el castillo medieval de Florejacs, a finales de sus campañas, hacia el año 1063. Poco después, está documentado como propiedad de Pedro Ponce, que lo vendió a un primo decir Galcerán Erim, veguer de Àger, sobrino nieto del prohombre y hombre de su máxima confianza. La propiedad fue pasando a través de los siglos por herencia dentro de la familia, aunque no ha habido continuidad en los nombres debido a las numerosas transmisiones por línea femenina.

Montserrat es un macizo rocoso considerado tradicionalmente la montaña más importante y significativa de Cataluña (España). Está situada a 50 km al noroeste de Barcelona entre las comarcas de la Anoia, del Bajo Llobregat y del Bages. En esta montaña se sitúa el santuario y monasterio benedictino de Montserrat dedicado a la Virgen de Montserrat.

La palabra mont significa monte y serrat significa serrado en catalán. Tal nombre le viene dado a causa de su peculiar morfología en la que parece como si alguien hubiese intentado serrarla con una sierra gigante. Tanto la palabra serrat como serralada (cordillera) provienen de serra, derivadas de la palabra latina serra, nombre que recibe el instrumento para serrar. En las representaciones heráldicas, Montserrat aparece como un grupo de montañas de oro sobre campo de gules con una sierra de oro que la corta por encima.

Las caprichosas formas de la montaña más emblemática de Cataluña, son el resultado de un proceso geológico y geomorfológico de millones de años.

Montserrat is a rocky massif mountain traditionally considered most important and significant of Catalonia (Spain). It is located 50 km northwest of Barcelona between the regions of the Anoia, the Lower Llobregat and Bages. In this mountain stands the sanctuary of Montserrat Benedictine monastery dedicated to the Virgin of Montserrat.

The word means mont serrat means serrated mountain and Catalan. This name comes because of its peculiar morphology in which it seems as if someone had tried serrarla with a giant saw. Both the word serrat as Serralada (range) come from serra, derived from the Latin serra, name given to the instrument for sawing. In heraldic representations, Montserrat appears as a group of mountains of gold on a red field with a mountain of gold over the short.

The capricious ways of the most emblematic mountain of Catalonia, are the result of geological and geomorphological process of millions of years.
