W. S. Johnson was the teacher. This photo belonged to my great Uncle Ennis? Wallace and was in a drawer full of old photos that had been partially eaten by a mouse. It was only a coincidence that our grandmother and her siblings went to the same school and were in the same photo.

Rufus Tilmon Foust was born in Anderson County, Tennessee and was the oldest son of Christopher Columbus Foust and his wife Mary Ellen Davis-Foust. He was a graduate of Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. After graduation he went into sales, but due to the heat decided to work in the coal mines where the temperature was cool. Shortly thereafter in a mine accident he lost a leg and went back to work as salesmen. I think he had eleven children? His oldest son was Seigal Foust.

Our grandmother, Mytle Ann Foust, was born in the Bethel Community of Anderson County, Tennessee on 7/30/1898. She was the youngest child of Christopher Columbus Foust and his wife Mary Ellen Davis-Foust. She was born in 1898 and passed away in the early 1980’s.

Another brother George Washington Foust went hunting on a snowy winter day and didn't return home. He was tracked down and found shot, but still alive. His last words were that he prayed to stay alive to tell what had happened to him. He tripped stepping over a log and accidentally shot himself; he soon passed away from the wound. George was born on 2/1/1886 and died in 1902.

Both Henry Foust and George Foust are buried in the old Foust Cemetery in Anderson County, Tennessee.

I asked him if he was in WWI he jokingly replied that '' I was in Bullrun, I saw the bull and ran". He was registered for the draft in WWI, but never served in WWI. He was born in Anderson County, Tennessee, lived most of his working years in Toledo, Ohio where he was employed at Willys-Overland Motor Company. He helped assembled the first Jeep built. He retired with his wife, Reba (she changed her name from Ruby) Riggs-Foster back in Anderson County, Tennessee. They never had any children. He was born in 1900 and passed away in the late 1980's

Orrie Foster was the first born child (daughter) of George Martin Foster and his wife Ida Williams-Foster. She died in childhood at about the age of five.

Lonnie George Martin Foster was my grandfather. He was born on April 1, 1895; April Fools day. Photo was taken in Anderson County, Tennessee.

Kyle William Foster was born in Tennessee on November 1, 1914 and died on November 14, 1914.

Uncle Kyle Foster was the son of Lonnie Foster and Myrtle Foust-Foster. Myrtle Foster had several miscarriages before her first baby, Kyle, was born. He was delivered by his midwife great grandmother Liza Jane Williams. He accidentally smothered to death in bed and is buried in Bethel Cemetery in Anderson County, Tennessee. His funeral was held on the front porch of their little house across the road from Bethel cemetery where he was laid to rest. He looks like his mother in the face.

George Martin Foster and Ida Florence Williams-Foster were my great grand parents and were called Ma and Pa Foster. They're buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Anderson County, Tennessee. George Martin Foster was born on December 20, 1870 and passed away on April 9, 1958. Ida Florence Williams-Foster was born on March 5, 1874 and passed away on September 25, 1965.

Dr. Williams was my great great grandfather. He was physician and school teacher in Andersonville, TN. Just prior to the Civil War he was selected to represent Anderson County, TN at the convention in Knoxville to determine if East Tennessee would secede from the State of Tennessee. I think you know the rest of the story.

Dr. Alexander T. Williams and Eliza Jane Wallace were married on April 14, 1860 in Anderson Co., TN. Eliza was Alex's pupil when he first arrived in the area. Both are buried in the Andersonville Cemetery in Anderson County, TN. Alexander Williams lived in a Confederate state, but remained loyal to the Union...he was elected to represent Anderson County at a meeting in Knoxville to determine if East Tennessee would secede from the rest of the State as West Virginia did from Virginia.

The children of Alex and Eliza Williams were:
1. Joseph W. Williams (b. 2/7/1861) m. Elizabeth Fox.
2. Pharoah Fox Williams (b. 8/2/1863) m. Martha Green.
3. Mary Catherine Williams (b.11/22/1864) m. William Foster.

Eliza Jane Wallace was the Daughter of Joseph Wallace and his wife Eliza Jane "Kirkpatrick" Wallace. She was the granddaughter of Revolutionary War soldier John Wallace and his wife Jane "Miller: Wallace. Joseph Wallace had twenty-two childern with two wives.

After the death of her husband, Alex Williams, Jane remarried Pless Cox. She became a midwife and delivered many babies in Anderson County, TN. Including my Dad's two older brothers; Kyle and Delbert Foster.
