Blue Eyes is four years old now and has spent her entire life near her mother and they are only separated when they have their fawns. A little info about whitetail deer, when a fawn is born if it is a female it will spend its entire life within a mile of where it was born. If it was a male the mother will chase it away the year after it was born as not to inbreed with each other and harm the species. Soon the fawns will be big enough and they will come with their mothers to the meadow and they will become one big happy family again. We have seen this happen over the past 15 years. I got down on my hands and knees and got into an opening so I could get a good picture of her making sure I did not make any noise and spook her. I put my camera on rapid fire which is 6 shots a second and fired away. I got 3 or 4 pictures before she heard the shutter and looked right at me, I kept shooting and after a few more shots she got up and ran away.
