This Image was taken in the Ghat camel racing, which was held in Ghat Festival ...
Camel race is the The most important event for Local people !

The participants were from Libya, Algeria and Niger and the winner was from the same city of Ghat !

The award was 2000 Libyan dinars ( 1600 $ )
...and after the winner has received the prize winner.....

He threw money to the audience as a kind of giving back to their Support to him

The end of Ghat Festival 2010, Everybody was Happy and they were singing " see you next year, Inshallah "

The Ghat Festival occurs every year.
It attracts Tuaregs from all over Libya and from nearby Algeria and Niger. Few tourists come at this time but any that do are welcome to join in or observe the dancing, singing and musical performances. This is a very colourful and friendly family event.

This breed of camels called " Mahari ", ( Arabic: المهاري ) it's characterized by the fitness in the body and the white or Light Brown colors ....
The speed of this Camels breed is double of the normal desert camel also the Price is Twice !

The top speed of this breed is 40 mph.
and Can run at 25 mph for one hour.

This Mountain Called " Kaf Ejjnoon" or " Jabal Edinan " ( English: Jinn's Mountain or Devil's Mountain) ( Arabic: كاف الجنون أو جبل ايدينان ) it's a small Mountain ( 107 Meter above the ground level ) located in the South west of Libya near of Ghat City ( about 25 Km north of the center of Ghat City ) .

local people of Ghat & Nearby small Towns believe that this Mountain is belong to Jinns & Devils and they tell a lot of Spooky Stories about the curse of this Mountain !

Just back from the city of Ghat yesterday, I was there to attend the great festival of Tuareg.

Indeed, I would like to thank the festival committee for the invite and for provided Accommodation for Free, and also I would like to thank them for Giving me a Certificate of appreciation in the final day of the festival.....

A Special Thanks to General Hussein Koni the Mayor of Ghat, Mr. Khalifa the Chairman of the festival committee, and our Guide in the ghat city and nearby towns Mr. Hassan ...

the Festival will be in Ghat City, Libya (Ghat is the Capital of Tuareg in Libya ) !
