Heligoland - Rock Tall Anna

"Long Anna" or "Tall Anna" - a free standing rock column on the North Sea island Heligoland. The rock is about 47 metres (154 feet) high and weighs about 25.000 tons.

I love the different seasons in the forest and like watching the cycle of nature. Autumn in a beech forest is always very nice and special for me.

Seen in the forest between Strümpfelbach and Aichwald (Baden-Württemberg, Germany).

Seen in a forest in the near of Aichwald (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). Loved the little waterfalls and vortices - showing water power. It is very idyllic and hid in the wood. I could find him only by the gurgle.

Diesen kleine Bach habe ich im Wald bei Aichwald endeckt, es ist der Strümpfelbach. Für einen so kleinen Bach entwickelt er an einigen Stellen ganz schöne Kräfte. Er liegt sehr idyllisch und im Wald versteckt. Ich konnte ihn nur anhand des Plätscherns finden.

The walk through the old town and the park constituted a magnificent afternoon. Autumn is so beautiful when the weather is fine and the coloured leaves are glowing in the sun like again last weekend. Here you see a colourful view from the bridge over the Enz.

Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany is the second-largest town in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg. It is situated on the river Enz, about 19 km north of Stuttgart, and 20 km south of Heilbronn.
The park is part of the horticultural show held in 1989. The garden for citizens is on the edge of Old Town.

Der Spaziergang durch die Altstadt und den Bürgergarten ergaben einen herrlichen Nachmittag. Ich liebe den Herbst, wenn die Sonne scheint und die bunten Blätter zum Leuchten bringt. Diese Aufnahme habe ich von der Brücke über die Enz gemacht.

A walk in the forest of Buoch during the really sunny and warm weekend. The Buochs Height is a wooded area and up to 519.6 m above sea level mountain range in and around Buoch in the Rems-Murr area in Baden-Wuerttemberg (Germany).
The beeches are almost still green.

Seen between Rotenberg and Uhlbach (both Stuttgart, Germany).

You can see some of these zigzag lines in the Google Maps. Look for "Rotenberg Stuttgart".
Click on satellite and zoom a bit in ... under the red "A" you now can see similar lines. I don't know in which year google had taken the images.
I searched in Google whether I can find the reason for these lines but unfortunately I couldn't find anything, Maybe you know it?

Das obige Zick-Zack Muster habe ich zwischen Rotenberg und Uhlbach (beides Stuttgart) gesehen.

Ich habe in Google gesucht, ob ich herausfinden kann, welchen Zweck diese Linien haben sollen, habe aber leider nichts gefunden. Vielleicht weiß es einer von euch?

Ihr könnt ähnliche Linien in Google Maps sehen, wenn ihr dort nach "Rotenberg Stuttgart" sucht, dann auf Satellit geht und etwas reinzoomt. Direkt unter dem roten "A" und auch etwas weiter rechts sind ähnliche Muster zu sehen. Allerdings weiß ich nicht, wann google die Aufnahmen gemacht hat.

The Porsche Museum is an automotive museum in the Zuffenhausen district of Stuttgart, Germany on the site of carmaker Porsche.

The new Porsche museum stands on a conspicuous junction just outside Porsche Headquarters in Zuffenhausen. The display area covers 5600 square meters featuring around 80 exhibits, many rare cars and a variety of historical models.
The museum was designed by the architects Delugan Meissl. The exhibition spaces were designed by HG Merz who was also involved in the building of the award winning Mercedes-Benz Museum.
The original Porsche museum opened in 1976 in a side-road near the Porsche factory. It was a relatively small works museum with little parking space and it was only big enough to hold around 20 exhibits (in rotation).
After the new Mercedes-Benz Museum opened in the east of Stuttgart in 2006, Porsche went ahead with plans to upgrade and extend its museum in the northern district of Zuffenhausen next to the company headquarters. Das Porsche-Museum ist ein Automuseum. Das Werksmuseum der Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG befindet sich am Porscheplatz in Stuttgart im Stadtteil Zuffenhausen. Am 31. Januar 2009 wurde der Museumsneubau für das Publikum eröffnet. Die architektonische Gestaltung stammt vom Wiener Architektenbüro Delugan Meissl Associated Architects. Das Konzept für den musealen Ausbau wurde vom Stuttgarter Büro hg merz architekten museumsgestalter entwickelt, das bereits für das Mercedes-Benz-Museum verantwortlich war.
Das alte Porsche-Museum wurde 1976 für die Allgemeinheit geöffnet. Es war auf dem Werksgelände in einer ehemaligen Motorenfertigungshalle angesiedelt und wies eine Fläche von 620 Quadratmeter auf. Zwischen 70.000 und 80.000 Besucher besichtigten jährlich die etwa 20 ständig wechselnden Exponate. Der Eintritt war frei.
Nachdem ein zunächst diskutiertes Museumsprojekt zusammen mit Mercedes-Benz auf dem ehemaligen Messegelände Killesberg nicht zustande kam, begann Porsche mit den Planungen für ein neues Museum am Hauptsitz in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Im Oktober 2005 begann der Bau des Museums. Die Baukosten für das neue Museum haben sich auf zirka 100 Millionen Euro verdoppelt.
Die Ausstellungsfläche beträgt ca. 5.600 Quadratmeter auf der 80 Fahrzeuge und 200 Kleinexponate ausgestellt sind.

Bis Juni 2011 wurden 1 Million Besucher des Museums gezählt und es wurden bis dato 5100 Führungen durchgeführt. Knapp 35% der Besucher sind Gäste aus dem Ausland.

Whenever I see a field with cornflowers or poppies my heart will go on. Since my childhood I I love the colorful fields.
It's too bad that more and more of these wonderful dabs of color disappear from our fields.

Wann immer ich mal wieder ein Feld mit Kornblumen oder Klatschmohn sehe geht mein Herz auf. Seit meiner Kindheit liebe ich ich die bunten Felder.

The ferry trip from Kiel to Kiel-Friedrichsort and there by foot through the village to the beach Falkenstein. It was a sunny and beautiful little boat trip on the Kiel Fjord. At the end we had a pretty good view of the Marine Memorial Laboe and the lighthouse near Falckenstein beach.
Here's the landing dock Falkenstein (Falckensteiner bridge is currently closed, unfortunately).

Ausflug mit der Fähre von Kiel nach Kiel-Friedrichsort und zu Fuß durch den Ort bis zum Strand Falckenstein. Friedrichsort ist wegen dem schönen Sandstrand mit Dünen und der Werft Lindenau bekannt.
Es war eine sonnige und schöne kleine Schiffsreise auf der Kieler Förde, an deren Ende wir auch eine recht gute Sicht auf das Marineehrenmal Laboe und den Leuchtturm Friedrichsort am Falckensteiner Strand hatten.
Hier der Landungssteg Falckenstein (die Falckensteiner Brücke direkt am Strand ist zur Zeit leider geschlossen).

As you know I love to walk in the vineyards. This spring is so wonderful ... the flowering meadows and trees are music to my eyes and pure pleasure.

Weinstadt (meaning "Wine City") is a town in the county Rems-Murr, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located in the Rems Valley approximately 15 km east of Stuttgart. As the name implies, it is best known for its vineyards and production of wine.
The town is composed of five districts which were formerly separate rural villages. They are Beutelsbach, Endersbach, Großheppach, Strümpfelbach, and Schnait.
Beutelsbach is the seat of Remstalkellerei, the fifth-largest winery in Germany with a wine-growing area of about 650 ha under the management of approximately 1,500 members.(Source Wikipedia)

Extreme Tree Shadow on Green

Last Sunday, I once again made a beautiful walk in the Killesbergpark (Höhenpark Killesberg) in Stuttgart, Germany. Near the trees I noticed the extreme dark shadow of the trees.
If you want to know why they are so strong simply look in my comment;-).

The Killesbergpark is an urban public park of half a square kilometre (123 acres) in Stuttgart, Germany. It is just north of the state capital, and borders the city's fairgrounds. The park dates back to the horticultural show of 1939. Before the show, a large area of the park had been a quarry. It was transformed into a park with exhibition sites for the show, and has remained, hosting horticultural events on a regular basis, including the Bundesgartenschau and the IGA.

Every July the park hosts the popular Lichterfest Stuttgart. Thousands of lanterns are placed around the park, decorating the park for a variety of family activities throughout. After dark, there is a fireworks show accompanied by music. Visitors often bring blankets to sit on for the show (Source: Wikipedia)

Letzten Sonntag habe ich mal wieder einen wunderschönen Spaziergang in dem Höhenpark Killesberg, Stuttgart gemacht. Bei den Bäumen fiel mir der extrem dunkle Schatten auf.
Wenn ihr wissen möchtet. weshalb sie so stark sind, schaut einfach in meinen Kommentar ;-).

Der Höhenpark Killesberg ist ein rund 50 Hektar großer Park im Stadtbezirk Stuttgart-Nord (Stadtteil Killesberg) der Landeshauptstadt, unmittelbar an das ehemalige Messegelände angrenzend.

Die Anlage geht auf die Reichsgartenschau 1939 zurück. Dafür war ein ursprünglich als Steinbruch genutztes, aber bereits aufgelassenes Gelände nach Plänen des Landschaftsarchitekten Hermann Mattern zum Park und Ausstellungsgelände umgestaltet worden.

1941 bis 1942 war das Gelände Sammlungsort der württembergischen Juden für die Transporte in die Konzentrationslager. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war der Höhenpark mehrfach Schauplatz von Gartenbauausstellungen. 1950 bereits folgte die erste Nachkriegs-Gartenschau in Stuttgart, ebenfalls geplant und verwirklicht von Hermann Mattern. Sie fand auf dem gleichen Areal statt. 1961 folgte die Bundesgartenschau erstmals im oberen und mittleren Schlossgarten und seinerzeit die erste Bundesgartenschau in Baden-Württemberg. Erst die IGA (1993) band auch den Höhenpark als Ausstellungsgelände wieder ein. Seitdem ist der Killesberg auch ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Stuttgarter Grünen U (Quelle: Wikipedia).

Fly Agaric Mushroom - Toadstool as Lucky Charm

The highly toxic and sometimes lethal fungus should not be eaten! The Fly Agaric or Fly Amanita (Amanita muscaria var muscaria) is one of many in the genus Amanita. The fly agaric occurs in Central Europe from July until October.
Previously, the fungus should be sliced in small pieces in sweetened milk and was used as flycatcher.With the right dosage the flies were killed drinking from this milk, therefore the name of fly agaric.
How e.g. the four-leaf clover or horseshoes is the fly agaric one lucky charm in Germany. May be in other lands, too ? I don't know ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_muscaria

Glücksbringer ...

Der stark giftige, mitunter tödliche Fliegenpilz (Amanita muscaria var. muscaria) sollte nicht gegessen werden, auch nicht wenn die Huthaut entfernt wird! Er ist aus der Gattung der Wulstlinge (Amanita) und ist in Mitteleuropa von Juli bis Oktober zu beobachten.
Früher soll man den Pilz in kleine Stücke geschnitten und in gezuckerte Milch gelegt haben, um dieses als Fliegenfänger zu benutzen. Bei richtiger Dosierung sind Fliegen, die davon getrunken haben, nach kurzer Zeit tot umgefallen - daher der Name Fliegenpilz.
Wie z.B. der Glücksklee zählt auch der Fliegenpilz zu den Glücksbringern zumindest in Deutschland. Ob es in anderen Ländern auch so ist, weiss ich nicht. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fliegenpilz
Ich freue mich immer, wenn ich einen Fliegenpilz in der Natur finde ... aufgenommen im November 2001 mit meiner damaligen Minolta Spiegelreflex und jetzt gescannt.

Rocky Mountain Winter Reflection in Spring - Boulder, USA

This lake is in the near of my previous Winter scene. In the background you can see the Rocky Mountains.

The photo was also taken during the au pair year from my daughter in April 1998 with my former Minolta SLR and now scanned.

Dieses Panorama konnte ich ganz in der Nähe bewundern wo meine Tochter 1998 das Au-Pair Jahr machte. Im Hintergrund sind die Rocky Mountains zu sehen.

Boulder ist die größte Stadt im County und die achtgrößte Stadt in Colorado. Die University of Colorado at Boulder ist die bedeutendste Universität des Universitätensystems von Colorado. Fast ein Drittel der Einwohner Boulders sind Studenten – dies prägt die Atmosphäre der Stadt, die als liberal gilt. Das Bildungsniveau der Einwohner ist überdurchschnittlich hoch.

Aufgrund seiner Höhenlage von über 1600 m und seines trockenen Hochgebirgsklimas mit fast 300 Tagen Sonnenschein im Jahr wird es gerne als Trainingsort für Ausdauerathleten genutzt. Möglichkeiten zu Wintersportaktivitäten sind vielfältig vorhanden. (Quelle: Wikipedia)

Taos Pueblo - Taos, New Mexico

Taos Pueblo is an ancient pueblo belonging to a Taos (Northern Tiwa) speaking Native American tribe of Pueblo people. It is approximately 1000 years old and lies about 1 mile north of the modern city of Taos, New Mexico, USA. The Red Willow Creek, or Rio Pueblo de Taos, is a small stream which flows through the middle of the pueblo from its source in the Sangre de Cristo Range. A reservation of 95,000 acres is attached to the pueblo, and about 1,900 people live in this area.

Taos Pueblo is the only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a National Historic Landmark. The multi-storied adobe buildings have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years. It is the longest continuously inhabited place in the entire country. Source: en.Wikipedia

Looking through my old negatives I found this image and some others from Taos which I made with my Minolta SLR in 1998 and just scan. I loved it to be there!

Taos Pueblo ist die vermutlich älteste, durchgängig bewohnte Siedlung in den Vereinigten Staaten. Das Dorf besteht aus zwei Pueblos und liegt im Norden des US-Bundesstaates New Mexico im Taos County in der Taos-Indianerreservation beidseitig des Rio Pueblo, der auch Red Willow Creek genannt wird.

In den beiden Hauptgebäuden wohnen rund 150 Indianer des ebenfalls Taos genannten Volkes in weitgehend traditioneller Lebensweise. 1992 erklärte die UNESCO Taos Pueblo zum Weltkulturerbe. Taos Pueblo ist auch ein Census-designated place mit 1264 Einwohnern (Stand: 2000), von denen 95 % Indianer sind, und einer Fläche von 40,5 km² um die Siedlung.

Die Bauten bestehen aus Adobe-Lehmziegeln, sie sind mehrstöckig angelegt, die oberen Stockwerke springen zurück. Zum Aufstieg in obere Stockwerke dienen auch heute noch überwiegend Leitern.

Die ältesten Teile der heutigen Gebäude gehen auf die Anasazi-Kultur zurück und wurden zwischen 1000 und 1450 errichtet. Als die Spanier ab 1540 den heutigen Südwesten der Vereinigten Staaten erreichten, fanden sie die Siedlung auf der Suche nach den legendären „Sieben Goldenen Städten“ im Goldland Cibola. Bei Durchsicht meiner alten Fotonegative kam ich zu den Bildern von Taos, die ich 1998 mit meiner Minolta Spiegelreflex gemacht habe und gerade einscanne. Taos war außerordentlich interessant und ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt.
