The white rock strata lying obliquely on the coast looks like the backbone of a dragon and extends from the coast into the sea.Research findings indicate that the white rock strata consists mostly of quartz,so it is hard and more resistant to weathering than the surrounding rocks,In the stormy and torrential coastal environment,the less-resistant dark rock strata were eroded first,leaving the more resistant white rock strata. This special geological phenomenon of differential weathering between rock strata created geological feature that looks like a dragon diving into the sea.
眼前斜卧在海岸的白色岩層貌似龍脊，由海岸延伸入水。據研究顯示，白色岩層大致由石英組成，因此質地堅硬，抗蝕力較高。在風急浪高的海岸環境下，抗蝕力弱的深色岩石首先會被侵蝕，最後只留下抗蝕力高的白色岩層。這種因上下岩層抗蝕力不同而形成的奇特地質現象看似蛟龍入海，因此被稱為 (龍落水。)

岩石由河流或海底的沙石硬化形成稱為 " 沉積岩 " 。東平洲的岩石屬沉積岩，由幼細的泥沙形成，約有五千多萬年歷史，是香港最年輕的岩石。

Rocks formed from solidified sand grains in the river or under the sea,are known as "sedimentary rocks" The rocks on Tung Ping Chau,which are composed of fine,solidified sediments,are a type of sedimentary rock. Formed about 50 million years ago,they are the youngest rocks in Hong Kong.

Facing North, the Tian Tan Buddha statue is 34 metres high. It symbolises Sakyamuni, who meditated deeply under the Bodhi tree and attained enlightenment and awakening to true reality.
The magnificent Tian Tan Buddha is the world’s largest seated outdoor bronze Buddha statue, which is located next to the Po Lin Monastery.
心經簡林
Wisdom Path features an arrangement of 38 giant wood columns measuring 8-10 metres long and 1 metre wide to showcase calligraphy by master of Chinese studies Professor Jao Tsung-I. These wood columns are arranged in a "∞" pattern.
Heart Sutra, full name Sāhasrikā-prajñā-pāramitā Heart Sutra, is a famous Buddhist classic. Heart Sutra was one of them.
