Long Way from Home...

Spent New Years Even night in Klamath Falls, OR. The next day went driving around to get some pictures and wait for the Coast Starlight to pull in. As I made a turn I found this guy sitting lonely in a parking lot. Former Phoenix Metro RTS which is a long way from home. Poor bus, didn't know this kind of weather in Phoenix!!

2012 TriMet Gillig Advantage BRT

3029 is one of TriMets newest buses having been put in service in the last month. It is one of 51 of these Gillig Advantage BRT's that Trimet is getting along with 4 Hybrid versions that are a add on for the Niagra Transit Authority. There seems to be a big improvement in these models compared to the ones the Utah Transit Authority recieved from 2006 to 2012. Also notice that it does not have the hump on the front roof of the bus (I thought that was standard equipment since I have never seen one with out it before). In addition these buses have the tail section from the plain Advantage not the BRT version rear end.

First Methodist Church Twin Falls Idaho

The First Methodist Church of Twin Falls sits near downtown off of US Highways 93 and 30. Building seemed to stand out as being in better shape that most of the rest of the area.

I made a trip from Salt Lake and Portland to take care of some business with our move. On the way back I spent a night in Boise and was able to get a few pictures.

Here are some pictures of Valley Ride transit in downtown Boise.

A couple of weeks ago we went down to the Saturday Market in downtown Portland. This allowed us to give our kids their first ever ride on MAX light rail.

Our return trip was on a pair of S70 type IV cars, the most recent purchase of cars by TriMet.

Here is some scenes from Downtown Rupert, Idaho. Been through Rupet a couple of times before but this was the first time I discovered their old main street downtown area. There is some nice looking buildings but like many main streets of small town in America it looks like it seen better days although there was a lot of cars park there.

A Trimet train of Siemens S70 cars is unloading at the PSU station before heading to the layover area and turnaround near Interstate 405. Once PSU is done building their new dormatory the line will be extended one station to that new building which is next to the turnaround.

Boise has several cutaway buses here is one on a heavy duty Chevy chasis.

Here is the train after leaving the station heading toward Gresham. It is entering the private right of way that will travel between Interstate 84 and the Union Pacific tracks.
