Water tower and abandoned flat-bed trains

Does anyone know more about these 15+ miles of abandoned flat-bed trains between South Fork & Del Norte, in Southern Colorado? There are hundreds of these hulking metal train beds, enough to build a skyscraper out of :-) I'll be going back later this summer (2009) & get better shots of them. Hmm, looking at the map, the tracks run 50 miles from Creede to Monte Vista, and here's a better shot of the same scene with some info from wiki:
