If I am available during significant weather events, I volunteer to help as a support communications liaison when the county Emergency Operations is activated. Skywarn and EOC were the primary reason I got my amateur radio license. Yep, I really am a Hamm. I love the adrenaline rush from spotting and chasing, and the feeling you get in the field when a critical communication situation happens and property or even lives could depend on your knowledge and skills, is indescribable.
