Spotted this little 'slice of life' gem inside Dog Eared Books in the Mission. I can't remember the name of the guy that makes these paper signs, but apparently he gives a lot of them to this bookstore every week.

It's such a simple, true statement. I love it.

'Elvis Christ' bombs the sidewalk of Valencia Street with his quips and 'poetry' written on masking tape. Some of them are great food for thought, some are chuckle worthy and the rest usually just make me scratch my head. All in all, quite effective.

(The one in front of the man reads: 'Poet Laureate of Flying Butt Monkeys throughout the Spanky and Alfalfa Solar System'). Wow.

These strangers were checking out the scene on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon...

After the 'excitement' of the cryptic stencil series I spotted in the Mission (see two previous photos in the stream) this was like a mental valium moment in time...

I love the handwriting style. It reminds me of Chrissy Piper mixed with my cousin Brock Hanson. Good stuff.

I had been meaning to photograph this stencil for at least the last month or so, but never had my camera with me. Luckily it was still there when I found time to run some errands in Ye Olde Mission not long ago.

Spotted in the Mission. The corner of Valencia and Liberty was the beginning of a multiple block long chalk assault that must have been something to watch in progress. By the time I got to the block between 19th and 18th, the whole sidewalk was PINK from all the chalk. Impressive. This was probably the most clever thing I read in 4 blocks of scrawled pastel mayhem.
