This was taken outside of the Prince Felipe Museum of Science in Valencia.
It also shows
The Valencia Opera House and
The Planetarium.
The guy standing in the water was a bonus and for me made added so much to the image.

This is a combination of images some taken from the latest production "Goody 2 Shoes" a Pantomime.

Passing Storm

This is one of those images that suddenly appears as if out of nothing it happened when I was walking in the Lake District on one of its less than sunny days trying to get a half decent image (as you do). I turned round and the light had transformed the scene behind me the purple I think is just the way the light is falling on the rocks. I wasn’t too aware of it at the time as it was blowing and a bit wet.

Notting hill carnival is one of the best free shows in England you will every see.
It's been held each August Bank Holiday since 1966, Notting Hill Carnival is the largest celebration of its kind in Europe.
An alternative title has sprung to mind and could be.
“SEE NO”, “SPEAK NO” and the one at the back “HEAR NO” maybe? (I know its a bit long for a title but it is an alternative for an alternative show)

No it’s not a "Gurning" contest.
The models where posing when one got feed up with the constant smiling (as you do) and pulled this totally out of character face.
It’s good to see reality breaking into advertising.

Taxi chaser

As the balloon we where in came into land a little boy on a bike raced by. It only occurred to me later when looking at the image and reading the name on the balloon that it looked like he was rushing to catch a rare desert taxi. Or it could have been he just wanted to be first to beg from the basket full of tourists. Who knows? :-)

Taken from a early morning balloon flight along the west bank of the Nile valley with Luxor and a low flying balloon on the horizon also our pick van up can be seen passing between two trees on the left. This is just a small number of the balloons in flight that morning I’m sure someone can tell me the correct terminology for such a gathering, I don’t think its call a flock of balloonists :-)

This is Shakespeare the skipper of our Felucca securing the sail after a day on the Nile. He told us his boss had given him this name when he first started work but he wouldn’t accept it until he had found out what sort of man Shakespeare was. So he went out and found out as much as he could about him.

He is now happy to be call by that name by his guests as he is satisfied that Shakespeare was a good man.

The colour of the sky I’m sure is due to the burning of fields on the West bank of the river.

A glimpse of a felucca (or faluka ?) an old-style sailboat that's been used on the Nile since antiquity and Egypt’s traditional means of river transport this one is sailing past Aswan's Botanical Island.

Taken from our boat as we awaited our turn to enter the lock at Esna heading north on the Nile. To me it is full of symbolism.

To all a Cautionary Tail.
Nubian village children on one of the Nile islands near Aswan in Egypt. The kids where full of life and great fun to watch, but you had to be on your guard as each one was out to get as much money as they could out of the unsuspecting. The worst trick when I was their, was one lady handed over a large amount of money for a carving expecting change, no change give was the shout as the kid run off. This seems to be all controlled by some Fagin style person in the background that I noticed the various children handing money over to after their numerous scams.
But don't be put off it was a stunning setting and an very interesting location, just stay alert.
