Another phone service I have used on my iPad Mini is called Text Plus. The company started off as an alternative text messaging service – now they offer voice calling. You can text or call for free. For a monthly fee you get a personal phone number that doesn’t change. You can also call internationally for low rates.

Text+ is just one of the ways that you can use your iPad Mini as a phone. We have a few suggestions but want to hear more from you! What are some of the other ways that you can use your iPad Mini as a phone? Please post a Flickr comment below!

Yikes! A shark tank exploded in a Shanghai shopping center injuring 15 people and killing 3 sharks. Shoppers had to run out of the way to avoid tons of water, pieces of glass and sharks after a tank suddenly burst in a Shanghai, China shopping center.

Syrian Rebels Use Hacked Sony PlayStation Controller to Control Homemade Tank [video]

From a distance, it just looks like a big rusty metal box. But closer inspection reveals the latest achievement in Syrian rebel technology: a homemade armored tank. The Sham II, named after ancient Syria, is built from the chassis of a car and touted by rebels as "100% made in Syria". But the best part is the steering wheel. The rebels found a way to hack a Sony PlayStation controller and use it to control both the acceleration and movement of the tank as well as its weapons.

Don Pardo's Business Card

Although you may not know Don Pardo by name, or even recognize him if he walked into you on the street, but you definitely know his voice. You can hear Pardo every Saturday night on NBC belting out the famous words, "IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!" In addition to announcing countless TV shows and commercials, Don was also the original announcer for both Jeopardy! and The Price Is Right and has been the voice for NBC's Saturday Night Live for almost 40 years.

Like Steve Martin, Pardo's business acrd doesn't actually provide the recipant with any real contact information. It's more of a conversation piece. Pardo's cards have raised gold lettering that says: "World Traveler. International Lover. Last Of The Big Spenders." I had the honor of working on the same floor as Pardo when I was at NBC. The last bit about being a big spender is an inside joke. Anyone who knows Pardo, knows that he's actually very frugal.

Power Mac G4 Discarded in the Trash

I was walking down Broadway in New York City's West Village and saw a Power Mac G4 outside with the trash. Made me slightly sad and nostalgic. When did these first come out? 1999? I opened it up and took a look inside. It was intact, and even had a hard drive. I probably would have taken it home if I lived nearby. I miss my G4. Great computer.

A Les Paul Guitar Autographed By... Les Paul?!

Frank Radice, former president of The Emmys and EVP of NBC News Marketing, has also
recorded and/or performed with The Righteous Brothers, Peaches & Herb,
Band From TV, Stephen Tyler (Aerosmith) and many others. Over the years,
Radice has added a few unique pieces to his personal guitar collection.
One item of note is a 1960 Les Paul classic re-issue guitar autographed by
the godfather of the electric guitar himself, Les Paul. We asked Mr.
Radice to tell us a little about this rare collectors item in his own
words:

"I had the honor of playing for Les's 90th Birthday party at the Gibson
Artists space in New York City. Also playing with me and the "Jay Stollman
All Stars;" was Jose Feliciano (A great rock guitarist: Fact!) Stanley
Jordan, and Mark Pender from the E Street Band and The Max Weinberg 7."
Les came in, listened to us for quite a while, cut the cake and then
signed the guitar for me. Les and I had known each other for years. I
first met him when I was the executive producer of Entertainment News at
CNN. I was also an on air correspondent for "ShowBiz today" when I
interviewed Les about his many contributions to the music business. I
interviewed him again as a Director for "Entertainment Tonight," and once
more as a producer for "ABC News Nightline." Needless to say I saw him
often at "The Iridium" in Manhattan. His legacy will last forever, That
memory, for me, lives in his personal signature on my Black Beauty."

"This is the last image I saw on my iPhone as my AR Drone was swept out to the Atlantic Ocean by a gust of wind in Belmar, NJ. One second my AR Drone was 5 feet above a driveway a block away from the beach. The next it was a tiny dot on the horizon way out over the ocean. Sucks. Only got to fly my Christmas gift twice.
