Several snowflakes seemingly stacked on top of each other. Perhaps they fused in flight and grew together.

My first attempt doing reversed-lens macros with two flashes. Provided more even illumination whilst allowing me more freedom to light the scene.

Strobist: SB600 on camera right. SB800 on camera left and ahead held freehand facing back towards camera. Triggered with D200 in commander mode.

Was actually very hard to get a snowflake on its own. It was snowing reasonably heavily at the time, and they tended to blow away quickly. That and my fingers nearly froze off.

I really like the pattern on this flake. Much more like the ones you get on greetings cards. Each point nearly connected to the other.

Trying to learn and play with light some more. Irritatingly just after shooting this I dropped my SB800 on the floor (it was in half in a jacket pocket). It still works but the casing is very loose and the battery door won't stay on. I'll take it apart and investigate.

Strobist: CTO gelled SB800 fired through grate to brickwork behind. Flash fired in iTTL mode from D200. Flash was somewhat angled to allow some to highlight the texture of the metal.
