Turtledove and her babies

I worked again this photo for a contest... Up to this day it's one of my fave pics... :)
The story: One of my friend had put an old lamp in her garage and a couple of turtledoves used is as a nest. So we could observe all Summer the birds and their babies (3 sets of eggs)... It was such a great moment to be able to take a glimpse at the life of those birds! :)

Every day, I take a pic of my sundeck. I was taking it when I saw my fave bird, a crow, on my neighbour's roof. :)

Merlin is the best of cats! Probably born in October 1998, he may be older. Not sure. He was a stray cat, living outside near one of my friend's home. But he was really friendly. I decided to adopt him in November 1999. At first, it was not easy to keep him inside, but now, he loves his comfort! :) He follows me everywhere in the house and is very patient with the kids. He is a really goooooood cat! :)
Sadly, Merlin died on October the First 2008. He will be missed, but is now an angel cat...

Princesse was born in January 2000. I wanted another cat cause my Merlin was all alone. In April 2000, my brother-in-law died. Two or 3 weeks after that, I told my niece (his daughter) who was 5 at the time that we would go to a cat shelter to adopt one, that she would choose him and that she would name him too! She was really happy. There were many nice cats at the shelter and I would have taken all of them!!!!! I wanted an older cat, but the minute Gene saw that tiny thing in the cage she told me that she wanted to choose this one. I was not sure. The cat was really young (about 2 months old) and seemed sooo independant! Not looking at us and playing and having fun all alone with her little ball! My! I thought! This is going to be a problem cat!!!! But I was sooooooooooo wrong! Princesse is funny, intelligent, cute, very talkative. She loves her big brother even if they often fight... (She always wins) ... And she has the most wonderful eyes!!!!! Gene chose her name, because she told me that she looked like a princesse! :) And now, Gene is Princesse's godmother! :)

He came here on my patio to take a little sunbath last February. He was first of a long serie of cats coming to see me, Chausson and Princesse. He had an eye infection, but seemed fine. I never knew his name but saw him again during Summer. His eye was healed. Never knew if he had an owner or if he was a stray cat. He was very shy. More on my blot at princessemerlin.blogspot.com

Polaroid has announced the end of production of their cameras and films. That's a sad thing. BUT there is still hope, as you can see in the Save Polaroid group.
Instant photography has always been pure fun for me. First, I had a Kodak, but when it disapeared from the market, I bought a Polaroid. Taking images with that kind of camera is really different. One can't take many pics and choose the best like in digital photo. The films are really expensive. But because of that, the images tends to be more "realistic" than the one taken with Reflexes or Digitals. Little bits of time frozen on paper...
This particular image was taken in 1994 by my father a few months before his death. My sister was pregnant with my goddaughter, who is today 16... It's a bittersweet memory, since my father was really ill with leukemia. But I love this image a lot. Makes me realize the passage of time...
