Gaussian Blur Overlay

I followed the first few steps, but I wasn't happy with the results I was getting. The blur was ok, but it wasn't matching the mood of the photo. On a whim, I inverted the Gaussian Blur layer and all of a sudden I was much happier with how it turned out.

Silhouette - Try to do as much as possible in camera (vs. adjusting levels after the fact to darken the silhouette).

Felt like being a bit silly with this one this week.

Week 130 Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Humorous Stuffed Animal Triptych ~ Three photos that tell an amusing story using stuffed animals.

The Uglies were super excited by the prospect of this assignment. Once I showed up with cookies, they were even more excited.

Fitting the story into three panels was a bit of a challenge, but now that I'm thinking about it, I may do one or two more of these.

Week 78, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

I've also spent a good amount of time in the movies, and summer is the best time for the big budget blockbusters. Create a movie poster for your summer movie! Doesn't have to be a big action type, and hopefully reflects a bit of who you are. Show us your summer movie!

A few weeks ago Poe, Cinko, Babo and the Walrus were working on a film. They started the filming because of a Take A Class With Dave And Dave assignment. When I showed them this week's assignment about a movie poster, the figured it was the perfect time to advertise for their movie.

Poe was very helpful in posing for this picture, but Babo, Cinko and the Walrus kept getting in my way as they crowded around the monitor to give me pointers and directing me as to their vision. I finally gave them some cookies and they left me in peace to finish the poster.

Day 179 of 365 (Year Two)

Cinko was feeling a bit out of sorts because of some sky water. To take his mind off of the sky water I told him we could take some pictures together. He thought this one was rather silly, but he really liked it. He was very happy when I told him I would use it as my 365 Day shot. By the time we were done the sky water had stopped and he had calmed down.

Day 135 of 365 (Year Two)

So a while back we had a thunderstorm roll through which really freaked Cinko out. I got him his towel and he made me grab one for myself as well. There were several comments about that picture which alluded to us looking like Obi-Wan and a padawan.

Cinko didn't know what a padawan was or who Obi-Wan was. He has been pestering me about it since he read the comments for that picture. I finally broke down and let him watch Episode 1 thru 6 this past weekend.

Cinko has become a fan. He loved Star Wars. Now when I come home I find my Galactic Heroes figures all over the floor with Cinko, Poe and Babo playing Star Wars. By the end of the night I have to take away their little lightsabers.

Cinko is definitely a fan of the Rebellion, although he completely freaked out when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan visited Otoh Gunga and he wasn't a big fan of Kamino or the Death Star trash compactor scenes. He loved Tatooine though, it was nice and dry.

Day 114 of 365 (Year Four)

For some reason I was just worn out all day. We didn't get much accomplished downstairs, but we did haul 20 sheets of drywall down there. They should start going up in the next day or two. Everyone in the house seemed a bit run down today.

Day 113 of 365 (Year Four)

Savanah got back from NY tonight. She called me from the bus to let me know that she got me a gift. She was supposed to be telling me they were back in Maryland so I could leave the house to come pick her up, but she was more excited about the gift she got me. I met them at Penn Station about 30 minutes after the call and as soon as I stepped out of the car she told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands. I was quite surprised when she placed Ice-Bat in my hands.

She had called me yesterday to tell me that Bubbie wouldn't let her get me one because she only had a certain amount of money to spend in NY and buying one would have put her over so I was totally surprised when she handed me Ice-Bat. He was as excited to meet me as I was him and he is looking forward to meeting the rest of the gang who are still at the other house.

Day 284 of 365 (Year Two)

We watched an episode of Batman today and Poe got all excited thinking he had the perfect Halloween costume. I fell asleep and when I woke up he had done this to us. I'm not entirely sure how he did it, but I'm hoping he can undo it! I explained to him/me that he couldn't use me as part of his costume.

Day 204 of 365 (Year Two)

Poe may talk a good game, and he is a wonderful actor (see Poezilla), but he can be a bit dramatic at times and is occasionally a tad bit sensitive.

After shooting the Take A Class With Dave and Dave shot, the reminder of his defeat really got to him. Luckily, he gets over this stuff really quickly. A cookie and a hug and he is all better.

Non-Human Clones Back in Week 52, we did Clones. Most clone shots people do are of people. This week, the challenge is to clone something other than a human being. It can be anything you want, as long as it's not a person. Be creative!

After last weeks defeat at the hands of Flickr Dave, Poe invited over some friends to contemplate revenge!
