Catedral Primada Santa María de Toledo

I used Microsoft ICE to stitch this... I originally used autostitch years ago, and wasn't all that thrilled with the results. Also, I had to do considerable touch-up work with Photoshop on that version. In this case, I did very little touch up.

From 2005... it was a dreary, rainy day. My friend Waleska's father drove us from Madrid to Toledo, and as we got closer, he told us of a place along the road that had a great view of the ancient part of the city and suggested that we get out of the car so that I could photograph it.

From the same location as this one but with the lens zoomed to the maximum (350mm).

Working on archiving my photos and taking a second (or third or fourth) look at older photos... This was created from three frames shot with my Nikon CoolpPix 8800 with a wide angle lens attachment (hence the major silhouetted edges) and I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

Both halves of this diptych are created using the same two original frames. I decided to redo this panorama after seeing that the Pepsi sign had been renovated.

As you can see, depending upon how I cropped the two originals determined how the final panorama turned out. I prefer the one since more of the sign is seen, but don't like that the young boy appears twice.

OK... so... I realize this isn't going to rock too many others' worlds, but I suppose this is why I take photographs, these scenes which exist every single day which very few people tend to recognize despite seeing. You can only imagine how excited I was to see the double reflection of the c-a-p-i-t-O-l building (first off the glass then off the marble), and with my propensity for shooting panoramas, I knew I had the means by which to record it. That it was a bank (think c-a-p-i-t-A-l) made this all the sweeter for me since I'm a word geek like that.

From a lighting standpoint, it was a mess as the marble was in rather deep shadow, hence the need to open the shadow up considerably to get a decent rendering. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so it looks HDR-y... big whoop!

Nonetheless, it's a must see on black

I had two frames which were practically identical but I noticed one took in a little bit more of the right side and the other took in a little bit more of the left side, so I stitched them together in order to get it all!

I love digital photography!
