UW on top of drainage spout on Jardine Hall on the campus of Wichita State University. UW stood for the University of Wichita, a forerunner to Wichita State University and what the school was known as when Jardine Hall was built.

1955 University of Wichita (now Wichita State University) football schedule found at an estate sale. University of Wichita went 7-2-1. Lost to Detroit and Texas Western. They tied Arizona State at 20 all.
The 1955 season was one of only 40 winning seasons in the 89 seasons of WSU football. University of Wichita also was Missouri Valley Conference co-champions in 1955. One of only 14 conference championships in school history.

Due to a draining athletic budget and low attendance WSU dropped football in 1987. WSU's record overall from 1897-1986 was 374-404-46.

1953-1954 University of Wichita (Wichita State University) men's basketball team. It was the first Shocker team to go the postseason. Lost to Bowling Green in the NIT. The record was 27-4. Shocker legend Cleo Littleton is #13 in the back row.
Picture is on display at the Kansas Sports Museum in Newton, Kansas.

Grace Wilkie House

Grace Wilkie house at 4230 E. English in Wichita Kansas. Built in 1927 and was home to Grace Wilkie, dean of women at the University of Wichita, (Wichita State University) from 1922-1953. She lived in this house with her sister until her death in 1967. Grace Wilkie Hall on WSU's campus is named after her.

c.1950 brochure for the opening of the new College of Business Administration and Industry Building on the campus of University of Wichita. It is now known as Neff Hall on the campus of Wichita State University.

Found at a local estate sale.

Drawing of Koch Arena on the campus of Wichita State University. Opened in 1955 under the name of the University of Wichita Field House. Renamed Levitt Arena in 1969. Remodeled in 2002 and renamed Koch Arena.
Part of a collection of images purchased at an estate sale.

Plaque commemorating Wichita State University's centennial year in 1995-1996. WSU was founded as Fairmount College in 1895, became University of Wichita in 1926, and renamed Wichita State University in 1964. The plaque is on Morrison Hall on the campus of Wichita State University.
