Fast forward. Nikon-optics-scanned and restored digitally 2013 via Silverfast for Mac.

Windmills and Dutch cloudy-bright skies - truly timeless wonders.
Just add the smell of cacao beans roasting nearby. Mmm.

Color and light are courtesy of the Niagara Falls light show.
These waterfalls are not the tall-cliff variety but what they sure are wide, loud, and powerful.
These falls span across two countries, US and Canada.

Always loved that image - I mean the song with Otis whistling and strumming the breezy sound.

And I find myself here, or I was before returning to Digital-ville. Methinks this looks as lovely in digital as it did in the mid-day sun. (Fade into Otis Redding.... one chorus and the whistling away)

This is straight from the camera. This year's Macy's fireworks were just awesome! On the Hudson River, where the rockets glared red white & blue (and green too). Wow. Millions watched and heard the booming of the bombs and watched in awe and reflected. Ten years after 9/11... I think we are healing and able to have some funner fun - at a birthday for our country and for Lady Liberty.

More to come - shot "a roll or two" in raw, and hope to polish an image or two. [View on black!]

Time for change, the planets say! (View LARGE!)

This clock comes from the Medieval days of Praha (Prague), and is part of the Old Town Square's history. (There is a Babylonian clock, and also Apostles, a golden rooster, and the forces of good and evil on Earth.

I like the detail (both the writing and the paintings depicting the planets and daily life), and was happy to see this so crisp without a sturdy tripod. :-)

Ektar (print) film
A sunny day. Hand-held. Canon A1 and 50mm 1.8mm lens.

Slight grain at 1000ASA in large size, but small this was/is pretty phenomenal for high-speed film.

Straight from the camera, no post-processing. (Tried some tweaks but kept coming back to the original as best rendition.)

Mama they took my Kodachrome away!

Prague through an aerial fish-eye

This was inspired by a recent PopPhoto feature on using or simulating the "fisheye lens". I immediately recognized the view, having a similar (non-fisheye) image from this exact spot . (The photographer in the article used a slightly different angle and a superior lens I'm sure.) My own image (above) was taken at the golden moment before dusk in the Old Town. And now: through a fish's eye. Sort of. :-)
