Hmm. OK, we went up the Pikes Peak toll road to South Catamount Reservior. I took a lot of photos. Sandy went fishing and caught nothing. Tree provided the canoe.

But we are 3 people who have lost so many friends in the past 6 years to so much. So much of that hangs over us; mortality.

But so much of our days are simple acts of friendship. A shared beer. A shared story. A shared meal. A shared moment on a lake at 9000' on a nearly autumn day.

I can't describe what our friendship means any more than I can describe what those deaths of our friends mean or why any of us made any of the choices that we made to bring us to....

...this fine day on a lake with no fish biting, the sun at our backs, and a gentle breeze blowing past.
