Chose to post these while it's still Women's Day (in parts of the world, at least :) I always thought that just one day is too bad and at least 365 days in a year should be devoted to the beautiful part of humanity - but it's in the calendar and I treat it as just a reminder. So this is instead of a bouquet to all the girls on Flickr - stay beautiful!

Our lakes are small - nothing like the magnificent Keefer lake, but it's still some real nature. I was reminded that I must take more pictures there. It's also a bird reserve withdozens of species, if I buy a telephoto lens I might catch some :)

Not sure ifthese bigger ones are also called luzzu - but they certainly are built in the same shape, from traditional materials and decorated inthe same style...

View of Paceville and the Portomaso complex across St Julians Bay from the Sliema seafront.

Malta has firmly guided its architectural heritage for a long time, and despite a masssive tourist industry, high-rise buildings weren't allowed until very recently. This tower was the first (and only) one for about a decade. Now, apparently other upward structures have been approved.

One of Malta's most picturesque bays, even in 'off season' times... You should see those restaurants, bars and cafes (crowded together and on top of each other) full of life in midsummer!

Luzzus (the traditional Maltese fishing boats) rest covered in December,and the cafes are empty most of the day, although in the evenings they do liven-up (it's a year-round tourist destination, but go in summer for high-season madness :)
