Here's the last photograph I took with the only camera still in my possession, before the E16 error made it unusable.
I am wondering whether it is my Karma telling me I have to stop taking photographs. For a while only surviving archival photographs (since even my digital archives seem to vanish in the haze).

poter passare un'ora guardando i nipoti mentre cercano di catturare un piccione in Piazza Duomo. Guglielmo ne ha preso uno per le penne dell'ala: erano straniti entrambi, e pure io che non li ho fotografati.

Nella cattura del piccione è utile camminare guardando altrove, infatti il piccione che si sente osservato tende ad accellerare il passo -- così mi è stato confermato da entrambi dopo questo esercizio.

since a while i have been trying to get the actual b&w of analog photography from digital b&w. this is today's post processing done using some Gimp filters, including one for the Lomo effect. i think i like the grain.

Actually, that is often the case with red lines in general, whether thin or thick.

it is interesting how much we can tell about the one figure against the light as opposed to the one against the Chinese puzzle. at least i cannot make out what is going on to the left of this photograph. As for the other, i love the calligraphic nature of that person with martial gait, shoulder bag, handbag, and shiny shoes.

is the correct way to write a Chinese character: did you know?
Strokes form a character only if they happen in a certain temporal order - probably this makes good calligraphy. I do not remember being ever taught anything remotely like this when I learned to write filling pages of a's, and b's and all the way to z's. Have you?

l'ho sentito dire in riferimento al popolo Cinese. Invece io credo che siano talmente antichi da aver visto tutto e da sentirsi a casa loro ovunque e che ora siano stanchi. Stanchi dei corsi e dei ricorsi, stanchi delle copiature, così stanchi da invadere di copie qualsiasi cosa sia marcata come design, autodistruggendosi.
E quando avremo perso la Cina vera - dove la luce è davvero speciale, allora forse ci renderemo conto di cos'era.
Ma io non li aiuto in questa loro corsa suicida.

i learned when visiting the national museum in Taipei, that the Chinese have been decorating bronzes since ever using regular patters, tesselation for lack of a better word. Those decorations were so beautiful that i thought they were much better than those small frames ("cornicette") i had to draw in elementary school at the end of every assignment. i wonder what my mom would think of them, she judged my cornicetta every schoolday for many years :)

Anyway, it is no wonder then one may see such tasteful light paneling around the city. This one caused a long pause in my schedule. Tomorrow in color and you'll see its designers' taste in all its glory.

but i can be harsh too, i get along well with some burned reds and some browns and beiges, but most of all with greys.

BTW, just in case mellow yellow is this winter's color in fashion (i have noticed a lot of it in shops in the Netherlands), now you have a suggestion from Nature in Taiwan on how to color coordinate it.

being so taken by your surrounding that the night falls on you, what more can one ask when traveling as a tourist? this happened to me in a rocky place that has been shaped by wind and water over millions of years. i guess such locations do not come by easily. to convey the marvel in a photograph is almost impossible, so i do not expect this photo to be of any appeal to you, but it is to me.
