Doddington Hall is an Elizabethan mansion complete with walled courtyards and a gabled gatehouse. It is located in the village of Doddington near the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England.

Picture captured from the "Country file" TV programme and enhanced in photo shop.
This boat was located in an obscure boat yard and was about to be broken up for fire wood, when this young person who knew nothing about boats decided to raise some funds for it`s complete rebuilding...the sum raised was around 80 thousand pounds.

No this is not Italy, but I think the Newark Town Hall, built as the numerals denote 1847. Quite impressive I think for small town Newark.

Marnock Bridge River Deveron Banff Scotland 1983

On a visit to Banff in 1983 I visited a friend who was staying in a caravan at the side of this bridge which is a noted salmon river...he stayed there for a week and never caught anything...the reason seemed to be that there were illegal salmon fishermen throwing nets across the river further downstream...however I thought it was a good bridge to sketch...so here we are.

Founding of the company

The roots of International Harvester run to the 1830s, when Cyrus Hall McCormick, an inventor from Virginia, finalized his version of a horse-drawn reaper, which he field-demonstrated throughout 1831, and for which he received a patent in 1834. Together with his brother Leander J. McCormick (1819–1900), McCormick moved to Chicago in 1847 and started the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company. The McCormick reaper sold well, partially as a result of savvy and innovative business practices. Their products came onto the market just as the development of railroads offered wide distribution to distant market areas. He developed marketing and sales techniques, developing a vast network of trained salesmen able to demonstrate operation of the machines in the field.
