A picture I made for my company by blending two scenes.

There were about a thousand of my company employees on the Chennai Beach on a Saturday cleaning up the place.

Also on the scene were three employees of the Chennai Corporation who do that 8 hours a day everyday. So I decided to merge the scenes.

I had some interesting conversations with people that day. Well paid company employees, these cleaning staff, some shop keepers who live on their daily take and some curious on-lookers.

What did I find? Not much difference in the understanding of problems of plastics and pollution and perhaps even solutions. More than that, many including those survive on daily wages felt that humankind needs to be more careful in manging the environment. Future may not be as bleak as many would have as believe.

PS: If you look carefully, you can spot Uma and Nila who joined me in this office event that day.

You would have seen zillion such shots for sure.

But what would you do at 1 o'clock in the night when you can't sleep. Had enough of local TV. Even with the timezone difference, it is inappropriate to make phone calls. Have read cover to cover all the hotel chain brochures, food delivery catalogues, morning newspaper and even the local maps. There is still enough time for the crucial office presentations and the meeting preparation. So what do you do.

Cliched noisy nightshots are not such a bad deal at all.
