Chateau Franc-Pourret, St Emilion, France. I can thoroughly recommend staying here if you are up for a visit to the area. A relaxing 10 minute walk through the chateau's own vineyard into the town. Last I checked, they had 86 reviews on Tripadvisor, and only 6 of them below 5/5. An absolutely fabulous place to stay.

Pretty good visualisation of why it's the Cote d'Azur, and not the Cote de Gris I thought.

(also not a bad visualisation of the barrel distortion the Canon kit lens creates!)

The tip of the barge pole you're supposed to use to just to push off from the bank when departing, but we had to use to fend of oncoming boats when we found ourselves on the wrong side of the canal. Again.

Not sure if the exif shows it, but was up at 4:30am to try and catch a few like this, and we managed to be in the first 60 through the gates that morning.

Such an incredible place. More shots to follow. If it's on your bucket list......get it done :)

The view out from the top of the ski lift at Belvedere on the summit of Sella, 1500m above Canazei, Val di Fassa, Italy. I was on foot as I didn't trust myself not to come a cropper on the way down and end up with a bag full full of bits where my lenses used to be. Anyway, the 5 hour hike was worth it for views like this one.

You can just make out the windsock on the other peak ahead.
