So I was looking through my email account and found an old email address in my contacts list. It was an account that I setup 7 years ago, Pre-Facebook and Pre-Flickr to share photo's with family. The account was a place to send pictures and then everyone could access the account to share and view. I don't know how but I remembered the password to the account and logged in. There were only a couple of sets of photos that we ever added to the collection. So I downloaded this photo and enhanced it. I like the idea that it is a slice of life from 7 years ago that was more or less forgotten. Although I love Seattle I have yet to go back with my newer camera equipment. Maybe I will go back to take this same picture, not that it would change much.

Marquam at Night

Went down onto the little beach just below the Marquam. It was a great night although a little cold. But after about 10 minutes you couldn't feel you fingers anymore so it was ok. I was just a little painful warming back up in the car.

Algae growing rampant in this little pond.

Stepping back a little and doing it "old" school. I had a fairly long break in there from taking photo's and have felt like I am sort of starting anew. So I picked up a Canon A550 for $19 with a 1gb card. Even at full resolution it can take like 1500 photos. So this camera will basically go everywhere with me since it fits in my pocket which is nice for those spontaneous moments. Especially during the workweek. Hate leaving all of my Nikon gear in the car so I never take it to work. But for $19 dollars who cares. Waiting for the focus and not really knowing if it is in focus is a little less spontaneous but no image at all would be worse.

Forest Fire smoke from Mt.Hood area has provided for some colorful sunsets in the Portland area. The birds were a surprise. Waiting for the sunset a flock of large birds flew into frame, they almost looked like crows but I was not sure.

I took us a while to find a good view of downtown Charlotte. Portland is easy since it is right next to the Willamette river. We also went downtown and was amazed at how clean the streets and were, almost seemed like Disneyland.

Not a Jeff Gordon fan but his pit was almost directly in front of us. The pit crews are so fast. Something like 13 second for 4 tires and fuel.

One lap around Bristol Motor Speedway

Following Kyle Busch for one lap around Bristol Motor Speedway during the Nationwide race.

It is so loud you could not go for long without headphones. Essentially the track is a football stadium with a race track in the middle. This is the fifth Nascar track that I have been to and this is by far the most intense.
