What is characteristic in Budapest nightlife is the number of open-air bars or clubs which pop up in ruined buildings especially in the summer. Most of these places are transient due to midtown's renovation but some of them resist.
Szimpla Kert ( www.szimpla.hu/ ) is one of them : an "institution" located in jew district which survives since 2001and an amazing place to have a drink outdoor or indoor. But you can also see movies in the open-air cinema...
Let's hope that the ruined buildings which contribute to this special atmosphere won't be demolished by real estate developers or by the time...

Michel with his Dupla mug : He was given this mug by the waitress because he had to wait a long time for the dessert he ordered. And finally the last dessert have been given to someone else :-).
But now he is happy to have this polka-dotted cup :-).
