This looks like a posed shot, but actually it's really a spur-of the-moment snapshot. A couple of weeks ago I was at the beach to shoot the good swell we were having in the nice afternoon light. My friends Lisa and Brad happened to be there doing the same thing :) As I was getting ready to leave, I pointed the ol' telephoto in their direction and they flashed those engaging smiles. It was luck to have such a cool background with the lights on the boardwalk. And the soft sunset light was great too.

Night Falls on Cruz Bay

I rarely attempt night shots. I just haven't had much luck getting them right in the past. But on this trip I wanted to capture some different looks of familiar scenes. So one evening I walked down from our room to the overlook of Cruz Bay, set up the tripod and tried to capture the colorful lights around the bay. It's not perfect by any means, but I'm pretty pleased with it and was able to come away with another mood from a familiar place.

Taken by Andrezza as we took a little cruise down Atlantic Avenue at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. It's impressive the difference a few months make. When spring and the warmth return, this same area will be packed with people. But for now we'll enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere =)
