The great thing about a camera like the nex7 is that it's always in my pocket or bag. So when interesting compositions/events happen I've always got something to shoot with.

Saw this guy on the way to work the other morning. I wondered what he must be thinking as he gazed out towards Liverpool for what seemed to be ages. 5 minutes later some big daft dog came galloping up the slipway to him. The owner (this guy) clearly didn't like the idea of getting his shoes sandy ;)

I keep dipping back into the shots of Rome - to be honest I love most of them. Not because I took them, but the memories of just how beautiful the place is.

I've had a couple of the shots printed out very large format - only then do I really get a feel of the grandeur of the place.

Ferry Cross The Mersey, Liverpool 2011

Apart from getting home this is my favourite part of the day!

I started cycling the 24k round trip to work and back as part of cross training for the Liverpool Marathon. As I live in Wirral and work in Liverpool this involves a twice daily trip on the Mersey Ferry.

It's 10 minutes of pure tranquility before you hit the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

This was taken on the 7.20am ferry on the way to work (I've got a camera bag that fits on the bike so you may see more of my ferry trips ;))

The weather was altogether different 1818 feet up! This cloud soon enshrouded us at the top and we hid behind the old building at the top until it passed.

Its fun taking out a very long lens every now and again - it can help create some interesting compositions.

This is taken at Formby point, England, looking across the Irish Sea, the mountains behind are in Wales. Hopefully these folk are Scottish and I've nailed the UK in one shot ;)

So this is where I've been for the last couple of weeks. Not literally of course, but creatively.

I wont bore you with the detail but it's been a challenging month or so, but now there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm using this shot (for all it's faults) as a creative line in the sand! Onwards!
