I want to be a dentist when I grow up, I cannot say I have ever heard a child say that, and I also wonder what is the special trait inside a person that makes them want to be a dentist, I know its something that never crossed my mind.

What leads me to this line of thought you may ask

THis had me a bit perplexed for a bit, but then my tooth started aching a little which reminded me about my dentist appointment for Friday in the dentist clinic shown above, and I must admit I am bad about regular checks the reason I am going is a tooth fell out a week or so ago and finally booked an appointment on monday.

Picked the wrong time of day to take this shot so its not that greay but the best option I have for todays assignment other than taking a shot of the tooth that fell out wich I thought I would spare you all

I wanted to avoid getting a shot f a bike today, well let me correct that I got some shots of bike parts but wanted something different for the assignment and was about to give up at the end of my walk, when this truck pulled up and parked just where I was standing and the sun was sparkling on this Hood Ornament or whatever you call it

My titles are getting pretty boring at the moment I know will try to work on that

Didnt have much time to get shots today so took a couple of shots of the stairs by the lightrail stop as I walked past it tonight, wasnt a great shot so tried to give it a dark moody feel with processing to save it, not sure I did but its all I got for todays challenge

Todays assignment on dailyshoot.com was "Let's start out the new week by making a photo with a red point of interest. Make sure your subject really stands out."

I took quite a few shots of red things including of course reflections on red, but then realized most of them didnt match the assignment as they were close in detail of red items, and not the red item standing out, but luckily I took this shot which I thinks works well for the assignment

Update on dentist visit, apart from me getting the time wrong and being an hour late it went well, not feeling any pain right now so hope it stays that way

Todays assignment on dailyshoot.com was "Make a photograph today of an interesting subject with as vertical or high a point of view as you can manage."

Now I was on leave today to go wife my wife to see a variety ofdoctors and not in the city at my office which would have been ideal for todays challenge being on the 12th floor and having access to a balcony so wasnt sure I was going to have time for todays shot.

But as luck would have it on the third visit I think it was to the pharmacy at Journal square today to drop off prescriptions, I noticed a walkway near to the Journal Square PATH station so quickly ducked over and took a few shots of the trains, this being one of them, not extremely high but good enough I think

And once again I went with B&W perhaps as Nobleup told me be careful its addictive LOL

Been a busy hectic day so may not catch up on your posts till tomorrow

I took this shot while walking to the office and was barely enough light to get it, it wasnt far from the office I saw it and was planning on popping back an hour later to get a better shot, but as I was headign back I saw the trash truck coming by so had to go with this shot.

I foud it quite amusing since I wanted to represent the way modern society tends to throw so much out and replace it quickly and the main feature in this trash pile is a discarded trash can

Todays assignment on dailyshoot.com was "Simplicity is economy. Make the simplest photograph you can today. Take things out until you can't remove anything else. "

Was a wet and dreary day again today in the city, and not the best of days.
Started with torrential rain waking us just before 5 AM, and I went down to check if the drain at the front of our driveway was blocked as it sometimes gets in heavy rain and water starts building up, sure enough it was so out I went to clear it, luckily was just a few leaves so quick to clear up.

Managed to get to work without getting totally soaked and other than Meetings today the excitement was a visit to the dentist I posted the shot of the other day, have a toothache thats annoying but not to bad as yet, and found I have a few other teeth that need work so fun times ahead LOL

Then I looked at todays challenge, and thought Hmm simple and teased one of my colleagues asking if I could take his shoot, but of course he declined when he found out the subject

And it seemed today whenever i had a few moments spare it was raining so only got a few minutes to look for a shot and this is what I came up with, the top of the Empire State building alone

Which although may be simple in composition, the subject is far from simple which I thought of when taking the shot but forgot to comment on till Houry mentioned it, its loaded with high tech comms equipment
