小油坑是位於台灣北部陽明山國家公園內的一處火山噴氣孔，位於七星山西北麓，海拔約805公尺，亦為七星山登山口之一。小油坑為凹口式的火山活動地形，噴氣孔終年有硫氣與蒸氣噴出，溫度頗高。其成因為火山活動終止之後，地底下仍然有殘留的熱能，這些餘熱加熱地底下殘留的氣體，使地底下累積之蒸氣壓力增大，最後在某些特定地點，如火山口或斷層附近爆破地面而出，造成爆裂口，小油坑即屬此類，為後火山作用所形成的地形。

台灣的北海岸線很多這類型怪石, 多得甚至連名字也沒有一個.

南雅海岸由於山勢陡峭，所以海崖及海蝕風化岩最為發達，因為這一帶的岩層屬於大埔層砂岩，其海岸岩塊的垂直節理甚多，砂岩的特性為堅硬而不易受侵蝕，各層岩石的硬度與厚度不同，因此其受侵蝕的抗力、侵蝕速率也有所不同而產生造形奇特的地貌，而節理在風化侵蝕的作用下，而形成了如針狀或柱狀的「岩峰」。

在東北季風多風多雨的影響，節理經風化作用及雨水侵蝕後，造成岩石內部含鐵礦逐漸氧化，形成有如細緻編織的氧化鐵的帶狀花紋。而節理面及岩層鬆軟的部份，在侵蝕作用下崩壞掉落，產生凹凸不平的表面，加上風化作用的影響，使得南雅的岩石色彩有了深淺不同的改變。

We planned to see galaxy on Sunset Peak but failed due to the heavy mist. Luckily the sky was clear after midnight, then we can still see sunrise.

Weather is nice today so went shooting. But there are limited choices in Hong Kong for landscape or cityscape photography, mainly because air in Hong Kong is heavily polluted. We can seldom see nice sunrise or sunset here... One American friend laughed at me one time when I told him my first time of watching sunrise was in my twenty's.

Shenji Li, A friend from Shang Hai, has come to Hong Kong for work these few weeks and we gathered yesterday. He is also a passionate amateur photography hobbyist and we had a good time. I brought him to Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui doing some shots there. The one showing here is a typical angle shooting Victoria Harbour with capturing the green laser from the buildings in a show called A Symphony of Lights (幻彩詠香江) starting at 8pm every night.

I still remember it is William Chu who introduced to me the beauty of photography 5 years ago. I took some pictures with my DC in Japan that time and asked him for comment. I never forget that he said, "For a newbie, your pics are not bad already." His comment greatly encouraged me to go on. Then after a month or two, I got my first DSLR and started learning seriously.

Throughout the years, I've been trying and discovering more about photography. The more I get, the more I feel that I still have long way to go.

Shum Shi Po is one old district in Hong Kong where you can see comparatively more old buildings there than in some other districts.
